Coastebello 2017

Inaugural Vancouver Island Challenger Rendezvous

The goal of this Challenger (late) Summer Rendezvous is to bring people and planes together for an entertaining and educational weekend of presentations, activities, food and friendship. Everyone is welcome – Challenger owners, Challenger wannabes, all aviation enthusiasts. Join us at Coastebello!

With the help of our friends and colleagues, Airspeed High Ultralight Flight School, is organizing the 1st, of what we hope will become, an annual Westcoast Challenger Fly-in. This event is scheduled to be held on the weekend of September 8-10, 2017, at the Courtenay Airpark, located in the heart of the beautiful Comox Valley. The airpark (CAH3) is well described in the Canada Flight Supplement.  The GPS co-ordinates are N49 40 46, W124 58 54 and the radio frequency is 123.35 MHz.

We will kick off the weekend Friday evening with a meet & greet BBQ on the deck at the Flight School. Let the fun begin! This will be an awesome opportunity to meet fellow Challenger owners and enthusiasts. There will be great food courtesy of local businesses and flying friends as well as local libations provided by Cumberland Brewery!

Saturday’s agenda will begin with a tour of Canadian Forces Base Comox followed by a variety of informative and interesting presentations.

Challenger demo flights will be available, Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, and should be booked at time of registration.

For friends, who may for some unknown reason want to participate in something non-flying related, we are offering alternate activities including a visit to First Nations
I-Hos Gallery and wine tasting at 40 Knots Winery. At the end of this fun-filled day we will congregate at the Courtenay White Spot where we can enjoy some great food, share flying tales and socialize.

Come alone or bring a friend. Where the ocean meets the sky, we await you.

See you at Coastebello!
